HEADSHOT & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
Identity, expression, and cinematic depth—captured frame by frame.
A portrait is never just a photo—it’s a constructed moment, an intentional atmosphere, a study of who the subject really is.
From Hollywood icons to internationally renowned musicians, he’s created editorial, commercial, and cinematic portraits that fuse old-world composition with modern, story-driven aesthetics.
Whether its creating classic headshots for actors or more stylized visual branding for public figures, Dan is a photographer whose work is defined by presence, precision, and an eye that sees far beyond the surface.
With a background in fine art, visual effects, and decades behind the camera, Dan approaches each portrait like world-building—shaping light, setting, and lens to bring out the subject’s presence and tell a genuine story.
This is portraiture shaped by production design and emotional tone, where identity and environment meet.
FOR ARTISTS, PERFORMERS & THE FACES OF THE FUTURE
Dan’s headshot and portrait photography services are ideal for actors, musicians, performers, and professionals in need of standout visuals for career-building or personal branding.
Dan works with clients across a range of industries:
- Film and television professionals
- Musicians and bands
- Creatives, influencers, and personalities
- Speakers, authors, and entrepreneurs
- Public figures and talent needing custom visual content
Whether it’s for a casting submission, press kit, album campaign, or online profile, each image is created with intentionality and relevance to the subject’s goals.
STYLE, AESTHETIC & APPROACH
The tone of Dan’s portraiture work spans clean and corporate to dark, high-fashion, and dramatic. What defines the aesthetic is not a single look—it’s the fusion of storytelling, composition, and emotional depth.
Clients often reference the cinematic feeling in his photos: the layered lighting, the visual world around the subject, and the slight tension that draws the eye back.
While Dan is comfortable delivering industry-standard headshots in natural light or smooth setups, his signature style leans bold and is shaped by years of art direction, CG lighting, and creative direction for film and photography.
LEDs are the preferred lighting tool—giving more flexibility, greater nuance, and a painterly quality that strobes often miss. Sets are often subtly built or styled, with background and foreground elements helping place the subject in a more immersive frame.
When appropriate, Dan also incorporates green screens or composited digital backgrounds for added scale and custom world-building.
THE SESSION EXPERIENCE
Clients walk into a set that’s prepared, styled, and production-ready. Lighting is dialed in. Concepts are reviewed. A small craft service station is available with beverages and snacks, and hair and makeup artists can be arranged in advance if requested.
Dan’s process is professional, efficient, and highly collaborative. Clients are welcome to share references, visual goals, and input on final styling or mood.
Pre-shoot consultations are available for every session. These cover wardrobe guidance, posing tips, style direction, and any technical or creative questions the client may have.
Dan believes in interaction—when the client and photographer are aligned early on, the results are stronger, more personal, and far more impactful.
A typical session includes:
- Pre-shoot consultation
- Set build and lighting tailored to the shoot
- Studio or location-based session
- Wardrobe and look planning
- Access to in-house equipment and creative support
- Post-shoot image review and curation
- Custom retouching on selected finals
Hair and makeup services are available at an additional cost and will be arranged in advance.
Session times range from one hour to a half-day, depending on the complexity of the set, lighting changes, and number of looks or wardrobe changes.
Full production or branding sessions that require multiple setups or team involvement can be scheduled as a separate booking.
EDITING, RETOUCHING & DELIVERY
Dan personally handles all editing and retouching. With a background in post-production and VFX, the approach is detailed but restrained—enhancing without over-processing.
Skin tone, lighting continuity, background cleanup, and subtle polish are all handled with care, maintaining realism while elevating the final look.
You’ll receive your headshots or portraits digitally through a secure, client-access portal. All final images are delivered to you in both high-resolution and web-optimized formats.
VISION BEYOND THE FRAME
Dan approaches headshots the way a director approaches a scene. Each shot is built with care, shaped by lighting, story, and mood. His background in visual effects and set design gives him tools that go far beyond the basics.
Sometimes that means a minimal frame with clean light. Other times it means a custom set, practical effects, or even digital elements built in Unreal Engine. Whatever the approach, the result is a portrait that feels alive and intentional.
Dan works with actors, musicians, and public figures who need more than just a good angle. His images capture identity, not just appearance. There is personality in the frame, and something underneath it too.
Clients come for headshots but leave with images that speak to where they are in their work and where they want to go next. This is photography for people who live in front of the camera and want to own the moment.
